This guy is old, but very interesting. His idea might be related to my thoughts about "collaboration memory for project information management".

Touchable surface showing visualized information, and people can interact with data in real-time, should be useful for real-time monitoring of a site, which can be a busy highway, a dynamic construction site.

Combining semantic "tags" with machine learning techniques should be the way to go, we need to have tools to identify patterns in those tags manually created by people, then develop algorithms to learn these tags and possibly automatically create tags in the future.
Collaborative learning is always important, it is not just collaboration between algorithms, it should be the collaborations between all sorts of agents: human beings, algorithms, an organization, a web page containing information and exchanging information with other web pages. Observing the behavior of these agents, the information exchange between them, and identifying the patterns of information exchange history, are the things I want to explore in the near future.

I doubt the effectiveness of this expensive experiment, how they can be sure that these greenhouse gas will not escape from other paths out of the deep ground?

This work is exactly what I am interested in: utilize social network to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of project knowledge exchange. The fundamental problem is: what are the general mechanisms enabling people to distribute knowledge in a systematical and fast way, can we have a "Watch Dog" to suggest people which parts of the documents they need to focus on for getting their job done?
